A simple, flexible system, Course Builder was designed to bring people together so they can easily share their ideas, discoveries, questions, and concerns across barriers of time and space.

The most popular use of Web sites created with Course Builder is to supplement activities in the traditional face-to-face classroom. However, it is a natural tool for augmenting courses taught by various distance learning methods and can be used to create courses that are taught entirely online in UMass Dartmouth's CyberEd program.

In fact, it was UMass Dartmouth ground-breaking experience in developing Web-based courses over the past three years that lead to the development of Course Builder.
